A Study on the Effect of Group Art Therapy Program on the Improvement of Mother's Self-esteem and Change of behavior

|
This study was designed to examine the effect of group art therapy program developed for enhancing mother's self esteem and change of behavior. The subjects of this study were 8 mothers. The experimental groups had attended of 8 group sessions one time a week for 8 weeks the including one week pretest. The post test was conducted within a week after the program. In the research conducted, the Group Art Therapy program was desgined for improving mother's self esteem and positive behavior. It is composed of three steps that were composed of the early, middle and final step. One session was composed of introdution about Art therapy, a work activity, sharing about a work of art. The pre-posttest scales used in this study were self esteem scale. For the analyze of the data, paired t-test were conducted by SAS 8.0. The results of this study were as follows: First, the group art therapy program had positive effects on mother's self esteem. In mother's self esteem, significant improvement has been observed through Group Art Therapy Program. Second, Group Art Therapy Program has effected on positive behavior and attitude.
